New information has arised regarding the GameCube version of Legend of Zelda: Four Swords. A solo player (using the GameCube controller -- Game Boy Advances with link cables are required for the multiplayer game) can move around all four Links in different formations. Four formations are available: two ranks of two, one rank of four, a single-file line, and a defensive circle.

The Shadow Battle mode is a free-for-all combat mode. On top of the weapons and special items such as bombs, arrows, the boomerang, the slingshot and mallet, it seems as if players can summon help during a fight. A special vegetable item serves as bait to bring aid from Epona, the horse from the N64 versions of Zelda.
